Insurance Coverage
Surgical Services & Insurance Coverage
If your doctor schedules you for surgery, the Patient Business Services staff will assist you in verifying benefits and, if necessary, precertification. The staff will call your insurance carrier to determine if the surgery scheduled is covered and what benefits are available. The staff also will precertify the surgery with your insurance company, if necessary.
Precertification is an authorization for payment by the insurance company for the suggested surgery. If you plan to precertify your surgery yourself, please remember to give your insurance company the medical information, such as diagnosis and medical treatment plan, that is indicative of the needed surgery. This information will aid in the insurance company's decision-making process. The precertification number and/or authorization number should be reported back to the Clinic's insurance office to assure that your company is billed for the procedure before you receive a statement for the balance. During your interview with the Clinic's Patient Business Services staff, you will be advised of any pre-payments required prior to surgery and any other insurance or Woman's Clinic requirements.
Again, as a courtesy, the Woman's Clinic will file all Woman's Clinic charges related to the surgery and bill you for any portion not paid by your insurance. You will be advised prior to the surgery date of any potential problems that we discover while completing the above tasks.
If you do not have insurance, the counselor will advise you of any pre-payments needed prior to surgery and work with you in designing a personal payment plan for the remainder of the charges.
For Any Insurance Question
